Big Changes at Apache but not Bankrupcy

Forgive me Blog fans for I have sinned........lol It has been a while since I have added anything as we at S & S have actually been quite busy despite the current financial climate.

   It was a phone call that I received today that has sparked my blogging flame alight. Damian from Cornwall called today to ask if we could still get an RLX100s seeing as Apache had gone bankrupt a few weeks ago.....
As a dealer I found it quite a shock to find out that our supplier had gone belly up without so much as a hint of trouble from their staff. Needless to say, I called Darren("operations manager") straight away to find out.

   Apache Quads have stopped selling ALL Adult and Road legal Quads , they have also dramatically scaled down their operations and although they are advertising the kiddies range, they wont have any in until the new year......

Should you panic if you have recently bought a road legal quad?;- There is no need to panic, from what darren said today, it seems that they will be concentrating on the spares side of the business and the childrens range.

    Is it worth buying an Apache Childrens Quad?;- Well although it has felt to us over the last 2 years like Apache has been run by a bunch of incompetent doodahs with a fairly poor customer service regime, I have to say that hand on heart, the Kiddies quad range is pound for pound the best out there. If after sales is what interests you though, then I would suggest you buy from a dealer and not directly from Apache as a dealer is going to be more keenly interested in taking care of you every need and not just in taking your money.

I am certain that the boys down at apache will probably change their minds again yet but when they do, i promise that we will let you know..

Apache Adult/Utility and SuperBug Quads

In this post I'm going to talk a little about the whole adult range of Apache Quads from the Adult Sport Leisure Quads and the Adult Utility Quads to the all new Apache SuperBug 's.

RLX200

First one on the list is RLX 200 which is definitely an entry level machine, with a 180cc single cylinder 4 stroke engine. Although the max power output for this Quad hasnt wont be enough for competitive sporting endeavour, it still makes sense for a number of reasons.

Quads for the road are essentially registered as cars and as such they are taxed and insured as cars which means that in order to drive it on the road, you will need a full driving liscense.
If you are 17 years old and would like one of these to commute on as well as having a right good laugh on then the overall cost will be less than on the larger machines including your fuel costs.
If you are the parent of an older teenager then you might be more inclined to sleep at night knowing that your little darling is out on a machine that is a better in bad weather than a Motorbike and that they wont be doing Mach 2 on a 660 raptor. At only £2500 all in, this "entry level " machine makes a lot of sense.

RLX320 SuperMoto

The next on the list is a step up, it is the RLX320 Sport , Styled just like the 200, the 320 has a perky 280cc motor that will make for much fun. This one will set you back just £3500 and has a very good spec. The auto box with high or low ratios will mean that you get good speed for when you are off road and yet maximum torque when you arent.... We also sell the 320 in the SuperMoto Spec which is more expensive at £4500 but for that you get a longer gear ratio, lowered suspension, road wheels and tyres in a carbon fibre shell. dedicated to the road, the Super Moto will really be fun.......

RLX400

On the left is the next one up, the RLX400 has a great spec and with each step up the performance gets better. with its powerful 360cc engine,pound for pound this is one of the best mid size quads that you can lay your hands on. At only £3700 for the sport and just £4700 for the SuperMoto version you cant really go wrong. Follow the links and have a good look at the Specs.......

Over there on the right is the current top model in the Apache range, the RLX 450 Sport..... She will happily cope with motorway speeds because she comes with a very handy 450cc lump that is putting out 50bhp and to cope with that it has a 5 speed manual box. watch the video and i'm sure you will be impressed. The RLX450 sport is currently £4700 all in and the SuperMoto version is £5900 less a few quid. The Apache quads are well built and Main dealers, we at S & S will always give the very best in customer service. These Adult Sport Leisure Quads are well made and are at just the right price......Next up is a look at the Utility and SuperBug Quads..

Apache Junior Quads

Time for another post for S &S and so just taking a logical look at the site it seems good to talk about Apache Quads. Last year we took on an Apache Quad dealership, which for us was quite exciting and over the last year we have discovered one or two things about the range.

Tomahawk 2 Stroke 50cc

One of the things that Apache are very good at is building Junior Quads , why? Well firstly, part of the spec that I was particularly drawn to is that even the "Tomahawk" ( no longer in production) was fitted, as standard, with front and rear suspension. You might think that that is not so amazing but when you consider that a more expensive suzuki lt50 had no suspension at all, it is quite the plus point...... Neat design features allied with a remote engine immobiliser that was effective at up to 100m made the "Tomahawk" a fab thing to own. We dont yet know why Apache have stopped making these but I'm sure it will become clear at some point.

RLX100s

The next Apache Junior Quad on the list is the RLX100s.... Following the link above will show you videos and full specs and prices for all these. Apache have certainly delivered a really very good quad with the rlx100s, for one thing the 100cc 2 stroke engine delivers high performance in a quite compact package, the power to weight ratio makes for a very fast quad that would satisfy the most energetic kids up to around 12 years old.
The ZX100s is the next in the range and the main change for this quad is that it has reverse gear. What come next in the range is a bit of a step forward, the F100s is a liquid cooled machine that is slightly wider for greater stability and overall is beginning to point towards the final two in the range....

F50 ZR

The Formula Race 50 F50 ZR is well equipped enough to be more than just a little competitive on the British Quad Bike Racing Circuit, winning races and beating the establisher manufacturers at their own game ....Apache
are showing that they know where they want to go and how to get there......
The last in the Junior Quad Range is the F100 ZR

The long and short of it is that at S & S we like to think that we are allying ourselves with quality. Cheaper than established manufacturers with winning performance, the Apache Junior Quad Bike Range becomes more and more a good choice.

Here we are, this is the first post on the S & S Blog........ I suppose the first thing I'm going to do is point you to the sites home page S & S Home Page...
What we are aiming to achieve with this site is pretty much a "One Stop Shop" where you could do many things, from Buying a Used Bike or a New Apache Quad to Requesting OEM Spares, Buying from the Web Shop, Reading Reviews or even Joining the S & S Forum.

Its all a work in progress because we are real blokes working in the trade and doing it all ourselves, no nonsense, just good service.....

With over thirty years of riding experience and an almost "Rainman" Like ability to soak up information, there is none better when it comes to diagnosing/fixing stuff.

And this handsome brute is....... Yes me.. I dont really know anything, but just as Tom Cruise is the face of Hollywood, I am the face of S & S and as such I bring win and indeed sunshine to the table each and every day.......
Really though I love bikes and I really get a buzz from fixing peoples woes, from fork seals to engine rebuilds, I love doing my job....
